Sonam, the leader of the school children’s council tells me how, with BBA’s influence in the villages, school attendance has increased from 160 to 360 children.

At school she was taught about the disadvantages of child marriage. When she was 12 her parents wanted to withdraw her from school to marry, but she was able to reason with them and persuade them to allow her to continue her studies and postpone marriage until she is older.
