Sadab
30 x 30 cm
oil on canvas
The quietest of all the boys is 8 year old Sadab. When he arrived at Bal Ashram he was introverted and silent but over time his confidence is returning. Sadab’s family look after other people’s cattle. No one in the family is literate and his father saw no point in education. If Sadab missed his work his father would tie him to a tree and beat him. His mother persuaded his father to allow him to go with a BBA activist to Bal Ashram, where he tells me he feels good. He now dreams of becoming a pilot.
